GCIC condemns attempt to white wash heinous attacks against Christians in Karnataka

Pro Hindutva Writers Doddarange Gowda and Sumatheendra Nadig have urged the State Government to bring in a law to curb religious conversions.Welcoming the findings of the Justice B K Somasekhar Commission’s report, both said neither the Vishwa Hindu Parishat nor Bajrang Dal was behind the attacks on churches. Only poor Hindus protested against religious conversions. Uttar Karnataka Christians seeks CBI probe on Church attacks

Karwar: Christians from across Uttara Kannada district on Thursday took out a silent procession here seeking rejection of the report submitted by the Somasekhar commission on the attacks on churches in the State.

Christinas thank Karnataka governor for endorsing fear of Christians judicial commission report on church attacks

Karnataka Governor H. R. Bhardwaj has expressed serious concern over the impression among Christians that the Somasekhara Commission has not done justice to them.Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Feb. 6, the governor said such developments have disturbed him.
Meanwhile, the Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) has appealed to the governor to grant permission to start legal proceedings against Somasekhara for perjury and defamation.  read more »

Justice Somashekara Commission Final report-Church wise attacks-GCIC rejects the biased report

Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) has demanded that the Karnataka government reject Justice Somasekara Commission report which gave a clean chit to the state administration, BJP leaders and the Sangh Parivar in the attacks on churches in September 2008. GCIC has also demanded the publication of report submitted by the special investigation team of National Human Rights Commission on Karnataka Church Attack.
