Pro Hindutva Writers Doddarange Gowda and Sumatheendra Nadig have urged the State Government to bring in a law to curb religious conversions.Welcoming the findings of the Justice B K Somasekhar Commission’s report, both said neither the Vishwa Hindu Parishat nor Bajrang Dal was behind the attacks on churches. Only poor Hindus protested against religious conversions. Karnataka Governor H. R. Bhardwaj has expressed serious concern over the impression among Christians that the Somasekhara Commission has not done justice to them.Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Feb. 6, the governor said such developments have disturbed him.

Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) has demanded that the Karnataka government reject Justice Somasekara Commission report which gave a clean chit to the state administration, BJP leaders and the Sangh Parivar in the attacks on churches in September 2008. GCIC has also demanded the publication of report submitted by the special investigation team of National Human Rights Commission on Karnataka Church Attack.
