Sunday worship disrupted in Chhattisgargh by the Hindu Hard liners

A group of 40 Baljrang Dal/BJP activists disrupted the Gurur congregation of Sunday Christian worship service(19th June) in Durg District ,Chhattisgragh state. The perpetrators came at noon time as the congregation of thirty was about to finish the worship. They trespassed in to the congregation and took pictures and ordered the worshippers to go out with them .
Pastor Mohan C. Thomas along with Pastor Anish C.K. came out to meet the agitated Sangh Parivar activists. . They took photos and address of both the pastors. The Hindu hardliners under the leadership of Narayana Teke threatened of dire consequences if Christians worship/prayer any more and advised pastors and Christians to leave Gurur.Pastor Mohan informed the president of Global Council of Indians(GCIC)that the congregation is traumatised by the threats of the attackers and GCIC assured Pastors and the congregation that the condemnable attack on the peaceful congregation by the hardliners will be dealt wit as per the laws exist in India  read more »

Bajrang Dal Activists Stop Sunday Worship in Karnataka

Haveri, (Karnataka): Pastor Suresh was conducting a usual Sunday prayer service on 23-01-2011, Sunday, at 11 a.m. at the residence of Mr. Rajanna, a believer, in Hirekerur coming under Haveri district of Karnataka. About 45 other believers were also present. We understand that a group of about 50 Bajrang Dal fundamentalists, led by Shivakumar, Raghu and Veera, forcibly entered the house and stopped their worship and continued to abuse them using the foulest of language. The Supreme Court on January 21 upheld the verdict of the Orissa High Court and gave a life sentence to Bajrang Dal activist Dara Singh, who burnt alive Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons, Philip and Timothy, aged 10 and six respectively, on the night of January 22, 1999, as they slept in their jeep. The then President of India, K.R. Narayanan, had described the murder as “one belonging to the inventory of black deeds of history” and a “monumental aberration from the tradition of tolerance and humanity for which India is known”.  read more »
