Kanpur (U.P): Pastor Ganesh Kumar and his assistant, Pastor Budhilal, organized a Thanksgiving Worship Service on February 28th, 2011, Monday morning at 11 a.m., in a village called Digpalpur in Unnao District of U.P, about 90 kilometres from Kanpur City. As the service was going on, suddenly about 20 BJP/VHP activists came down upon them and ordered them to stop their prayer service and threatened them with dire consequences if they failed to obey their orders. Davanagere, (Karnataka); 02-01-11: Pastor Isaac Samuel (40), GCIC Davengere coordinator was attacked this evening at 8.30 pm, while having a New Year Prayer Service program for some believers belonging to the Akki Pikki nomadic community, who are living in a tent near the Davanagere Bus Stand in Karnataka. The Hindu fundamentalists, we understand, objected to the prayer service, and simply attacked the pastor with choppers, aiming at his head with the clear intention of killing him. But, by the Grace of God, the chopper missed the head and slipped towards the neck and landed on the shoulder, grievously wounding the pastor, who was rushed to the Chigateri Government Hospital in Davanagere, where the doctors had to put more than a dozen stitches to the wound. He is undergoing treatment in the emergency ward, and after the necessary blood transfusion, we understand, he is out of danger.
The Davanagere Dy S.P, Mr Nayak, and other police officers from Gandhi Centre Police Station, have visited the spot and are inquiring into the incident. However, no arrests have been made so far. All the media people are also covering the news. The GCIC is also in constant touch with the concerned officers. read more »
