Karnataka governor assures Christians safety to NCCI

The Karnataka governor has assured Christians in the southern Indian state that their places of worship will be safeguarded and protected.“Harming minority communities’ places of worship was akin to harming the constitution,” Hansraj Bhardwaj yesterday said while addressing a public reception organized as part of the 27th assembly of the National Council of Churches in India, (NCCI), in Bangalore.  read more »

Madhyapradesh Christians to protest against attacks on April14

Bhopal - Two episodes of persecution against Christians which occurred in recent days in the state of Madhya Pradesh (Central India) have alerted the local community.
The first incident occurred on Sunday, March 25, in Chindwara district,
The local police intervened on the basis of the complaint that "these people were trying to convert with illegal means, creating tension between the communities". They are accused of violating the law on freedom of religion ("Religious Freedom Act", approved in Madhya Pradesh in 1968) and will remain in custody for 12 days.
