Virajpet (Coorg): The Bajrang Dal Activists are again at their usual ruthless mischief upon the poor innocent Christians at Coorg. This time they have directed their attack on four poor Christians, daily wage-earners, at Badragola Villgae in Virajpet Taluk of Coorg District in Karnataka. The unfortunate victims are Thimma (35), Mani (26), Agela (38) and Ravi (50), all four, coffee plantation workers, who eke out their living as coolies in the coffee estates of Coorg.

We understand that early in the morning on last Tuesday, 21-06-2011, as usual they were getting ready to go for their daily work, when two police constables from the Ponnampet police station suddenly appeared on the scene and told them that there have been complaints against them that they were actively involved in the conversion activities in the area and that they have been sent by their Inspector to fetch them to the police station.

All the four then were taken to the Ponnampet Police Station and detained there till 4 p.m, without food and water and were then produced before the Virajpet Magistrate at about 5.p.m. In the meantime the GCIC also moved into action and arranged the necessary legal assistance for the four innocent victims. Mr.Sunil, the lawyer, appeared on behalf of the accused and succeeded in getting the necessary bail for all the four victims. We also learn that the estate owner, where these four people worked as daily labourers, was also very helpful in trying to get the bail.
