Kochi: One more person has been arrested in the Newman College professor T J Joseph hand chopping case on Friday. Tamar Ashraf from Thodupuzha, under the directive of the NIA, was arrested by the police on Thursday night. GCIC welcomes decision of National Investigation Agency of India to probe hand chopping of Christian Professor

Globalal council of Indian Christians ( GCIC) welcomes NIA probes the hand-chopping case in Kerala.The alarming level of 'Talibanisation' and growth of Islamic terror groups prompted the central government to consider NIA probe.
The hand chopping of Professor Joseph was believed to be funded by Islamic Militants.Kerala police recently arrested Islamic out fits involved in conducting terror camps in Kerala and Karnataka

Kothamangalam: Clashes were reported during the Joint Christians Council march towards Kothamangalam Cathedral demanding reinstating Prof T J Joseph, who was terminated from his duties, recently. Followers blocked the march near the church leading to the clash. Some even attacked the protestors. Police reached the spot and arrested the protestors.
