Delhi Pastor attacked by Bajrang Dal activists

Bajrang Dal activists roughed up pastor Jagdish of Indian national apostolic diocese at a prayer meeting in a south Delhi locality on March 12 th Monday,
some six women and children were attending the prayer meeting at a house in a slum cluster in Govindpuri when some men walked in.
When the prayer meet ended, they dragged Past. Jagdish out where some 30 armed men were standing. But the women surrounded the pastor and did not allow them to harm him.  read more »

Minority commission chairman Wajahat for extension of NCM Act to Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi, Jan 22: In a bid to safeguard interests of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has written to the government to amend the NCM Act to make it applicable to the state.
The Commission, which has been taking up the issue with the state administration for a long time, has also written to the state Law Minister, Ali Mohammed Sagar, in this regard.Copies of the letter have also been submitted to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Law Minister Salman Khurshid and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.  read more »

Christian activist jailed in Mahrashtra on trumped up charges of Maoist link set free by court

A Christian activist, who spent more than four years in jail as a suspected Maoist, says he was persecuted for standing up for the poor and the voiceless.
“I am innocent. The police charges were fabricated to stop me working for the poor and the suffering,” Arun Thomas Ferreira said in Mumbai Wednesday.  read more »
