Evangelist William Lee was sentenced for three days imprisonment, a fine of Rs10000 and deportation to US for alleged violation of tourist visa violation,He is also included in the ‘black list’ preventing his future visits to India.How ever,the court has ordered to treat his three days remand in the police custody as the jail term. read more »

Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) condemns the selective arrest of Evangelist William Lee for participating in a Musical Concert in Kaloor Stadium in Cochin, Kerala on Thursday, 13-10-2011. The Police arrested Evangelist Lee on Friday night 14-10-11, allegedly for breaking the visa norms and propagating religious sermons. He would be produced before the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court on Saturday.
It is an open fact that hundreds of tourists from abroad visit India and get actively involved in various religious programs and public discourses in public places, organized by godmen and women, promoting a particular religion.
