Tamil Nadu: Three Dalits dead in police firing

Chennai: Three people were feared dead in police firing in Paramakudi in Ramanthapuram district in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Reports say the firing took place after a face-off between police and Dalit protestors.The incident happened during Emmanuel Sekaran Memorial celebrations following news that Dalit leader John Pandian was arrested.
The police denied any arrest. Several police vehicles were destroyed and policemen were injured.

The activists of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) accused them of forced conversions. Church demolished, two motorcycles destroyed, a camera and six bikes stolen.
