Forcible Conversion

Falsely Implicating in Kidnap & Forcible Conversion,Christian Jailed in Karnataka

South Kanara (Karnataka): 03-07-2011- This is a classic example of an innocent Christian in South Kanara ending up in jail for trying to be a “good Samaritan” with his compassion and love and extending his helping hand to a run-away boy trying to free himself from the tortures of his step-mother at Uppinangadi in South Kanara.
Hardly did poor Praveen Lancy D’Souza,29, know 3 months ago when he heard the pitiable and heart-rending story of Karthik ,14, an 8th Std. student, who had run away from his house at Uppinangadi, unable to bear the tortures of his step-mother, and pleaded with Praveen to give him some shelter in his house. Moved by pity and sympathy, Praveen took him to his house and gave him shelter in his poor house. Perhaps, one additional young boy in their little house did not make much of a difference, as Praveen’s house was already full of people. They are 6 children to their parents - Anthony D’Souza, 57, his father, a mason, and Rosy D’Souza,50, his mother, a coolie, and 4 of his younger brothers, and 2 younger sisters at his residence at Badakar Village in Belthangady Taluk. Praveen, the eldest in the family, has been working as a security guard in some private firm. They are a simple hard-working and happy Catholic Christian family that belonged to St. Peter Claver Church at Haledangady, who also believed in praying together in a small group sometimes, whenever time permitted, in keeping with the words of Christ, where two or more came together in His name He is present in their midst.  read more »
