Allegation by New Age Hindutva Group, of Forced Conversions.

Alappuzha: Kerala- Three women from Pennsylvania, United States, and three men from Kottayam district, were detained by the Alappuzha based New Age Group of Hindu fanatics here on Monday the 13th June, and handed over to the police on the allegation that they were engaged in religious conversion in the tsunami-hit village of Thrikkunnappuzha. We learn that the three women and the three men were actually distributing pamphlets and conducting health lessons among the fishing folk of the village.

The activists of the Hindutva New Age Group first detained them and then, they sent for the police. On their interrogation by the police, the foreigners supposed to have told the police that they were tourists. The irony of the whole thing is that the very New Age Hindutva Group, which has complained against the Americans, we understand, are very much themselves engaged in large scale propagation of Hinduism in USA.  read more »
