A statue of Our Lady at Vailankanni that was located on a pedestal near the gate of St. Marks Catholic church ,Punjabi Bagh ,Delhi has been desecrated by some unknown miscreants on 17th February..
According to the Parish Priest Rev. Julias Ceaser , some unknown elements broke open the glass case and used some sharp object to desecrate the statue. Ther was no robbery as the offering box near the statue was un touched by the bigots. Hinduvta extremists on June 13th decapitated the statue of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Statue of Mary was damaged and placed upside down.
A saffron flag was placed near the damaged statues.
GCIC renews appeals to the administration for protection of the places of Christian worship. These desecration by the Hinduvta extremists wound the religious sentiments of the Christian minority community.  read more »
