IDENTIFIED WITH THE VICTIMS

A 36 year old woman named Lakshmi was found lying unconscious on one of Roads of Bangalore recently. She was unable to talk or communicate with anybody. Friends of New Ark Mission and MTCF picked her up and took her to the New Ark Mission Home. Perhaps because of the absence of any help from any source and her own inability to fend for herself, she must have been left there to meet her end. From what we witnessed, her pain and suffering were so much that she did not wish to live in this world any longer. But things have begun to change for her now though slowly but steadily after she was taken into New Ark Mission Home and with the love and care as shown to her by the inmates of the home. Since she was suffering from third decree burns, she had to be administered several blood transfusions and given various medical treatments. She is showing signs of improvement. She is not only improving but also showing signs of her desire to live. We regard it as an opportunity given to the MTCF in its attempt to alleviate the suffering of a child of God caught in the rat race of this world.
The disfigured face of the crucified Jesus reveals to us an amazing God, one who shatters our conventional images of God,died and identified with the victims, his crucifixion becomes a disquieting challenge for the followers of Jesus. We cannot separate God from the suffering of innocent people. We cannot worship the Crucified One, and turn our backs on the sufferings of so many human beings ground down by hunger, wars, or poverty.  read more »
