
Social Boycott of Christians after Sri Ram Sena extremists falsely accuse AG Pastor David of bribing villagers to convert<>
On 20th August Sri Ram Sena members stormed Christian worship in Bendwada village, Belgaum Dist.Karnataka, falsely alleging allurement to conversion against the pastor
Pastor David of Bedsaida AG Church, at Raibagh, Belgaum Dist.arranged a house meeting at the house of Mr Mahadevappa in Bendwada village. Believers included Mr Pandu, Ms.Indrava, Mr.Sidappa, Ms.Sangeetha, Mr.Sadanda .
Around 8 pm, nearly 40 Sri Ram Sena activists
barged into the house and forcefully dragged out Pastor David and manhandled him. The also grabbed and damaged bibles and other Christian literature. They then dragged the pastor to the village panchayat and complained to the village head that Pr. David is forcefully converting villagers to Christianity.
The extremists informed Raibagh police station about the allurements being given by Pastor David to the villagers to convert.. PSI Anilkumar along with other police came to the spot and were given the false information that Pastor David bribed villagers Rs. 500/- and Rs.1000/- for conversion
The extremists however, could not prove their bribery allegations and no one came forward to substantiate the complaint of the radical group.
The inspector notified Pasror to be present on 21st August at the Police Station to give a statement, The extremists have also lodged a written complaint against the pastor.
On 21st Pastor David along with 6 believers went to the station as per the instruction of the police. At the station, the police forced them to write an undertaking that he gave money and converted many people.
Under threats of being thrown into prision, the pastor also
signed an undertaking that he would not conduct any prayer meetings in the village.
After this incident, the whole village is boycotting this believers, They are not allowed travel in public transport. Not allowed to buy provisions from ration shop.
There are about 40 believers belonging to other church are frightened because of the village boycott.
