Karnataka Church attacks: Panel seeks time

Mangalore, July 15, :

The Justice B K Somasekhara Commission of Inquiry (JBKSCOI), which probes the church attack incidents and its aftermath, has requested the government more time to submit its report.

Secretary to the JBKSCOI Vidyashankar informed here on Thursday that the Commission will be able to complete its proceedings by July 31. However, it may require one more month to submit the report to the government. Hence, he said, the Commission has decided to request the government to extend the last date for the submission of report.
“The term of the Commission is to end on July 31, 2010. The Commission has requested the government to allow it to function for a couple of months more to hear the arguements of the learned advocates, finalising the report and winding up of the office.
