On Dalit Liberation Sunday(5thDec) GCIC renews our commitment in the struggle of Justice and Equal Opportunities for Dalit Christians
By the 1950 Presidential Order, Dalit Christians have been debarred from any of the facilities available to them in the Constitution For 60 years our Dalit Christians on the basis of FAITH continue to suffer injustice
Christians and Muslims of Scheduled Castes Origin face untouchablity , which is prevalent specially in Indian rural society,
Dalit Christians suffer humiliating discrimination, and are socially, educationally, economically and culturally backward
As per the Government of India’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment modality, which was formed in the year 2002, if it is proved with evidence that people are socially, educationally backward arising out of the traditional practice of untouchability, which they face in society, forthwith they should be given the Scheduled Castes status
It is shameful blot on Secular Credentials of India, that on the basis of Religion (Faith), Christians of the Scheduled Castes (Dalits) suffer discrimination and injustice even after so many years of India’s Independence- this section of Indian society are not FREE
GCIC Demands on Dalit Liberation Sunday-Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities for our Dalit Christians
As we prepare for the coming of Jesus the Liberator, we pray for the long awaited 'LIBERATION OF THE DALITS FROM OPPRESSION AND MISERY'
