Brother Sagaya Dass 27 years is hails from the Villipuram District of Tamil Nadu. He is currently associated with the India Campus Crusade for Christ as a promotional worker at Nagarcoil. He has been staying in Nagarcoil for the past three years. On 22nd after noon as a common practice, Brother Sagaya Dass along with some Christian students of S P Hindu College organised a Christmas Celebration programme. One Hindu fundamentalist student informed about this programme to his relative, a lawyer by profession. This lawyer attended this programme and created a ruckus alleging that Brother Sagaya Dass is forcefully converting people.
Subsequently this lawyer given a false complaint lodged with the Kottar Police Station that Brother Sagaya Dass tried to kill his relative to. The police arrested brother Sagaya Dass on 22nd night and lodged him at Nagarcoil Jail. Brother Sagaya Dass was released on 23rd evening.
