Cards carrying a picture of Osama bin Laden ''to pay homage'' to the al-Qaeda leader surfaced in Kottayam district prompting the Kerala police to launch a probe into the matter.

The cards, which surfaced yesterday in Changanasery town did not carry the name of the person who brought it out of the press where it was printed, police said.

People in Changanassery town claimed that it was distributed by a man, who is yet to identified and traced.The cards carried the words "salute to the brave martyr."
Police suspected some radical outfit was behind the circulation of the card.
