Madhya Pradesh CM to introduce Gita in schools-GCIC condemns move to saffronise education

RSS & Police Assault Pastors and Believers in M.P.

Mainashree Colony, Dewas City (M.P.): On 12.09.2011, Pastor Ramesh Manduwey (35), his wife Sumantri (28), and Pastors Ashok Aherwal (26), Balu Singh Dewda (25), and a number of believers serving the Lord had gathered around 11:00 a.m. at Brother Manish Tiwari’s house in Mainashree Colony for Prayer and Baptism Service. This place is about two kilometers from the Dewas Railway Station and 2 kilometers from the Dewas Bus Stand. On that day,11 believers were to be baptized and they had come from a nearby village called Nagukhedi, which is about 7 kilometers from the Dewas Railway Station. Also, there were about 20 other people attending the prayer service. Conducting of prayer meetings and conventions has been a regular feature at Brother Manish Tiwari’s residence and also there is a special hall for the meetings. Around 12:00 P.M 2 Policemen in civil dress came on a bike to the meeting place followed by 5 RSS workers with sticks and clubs. Some time later, 3 more policemen came in a Jeep. Then they started inquiring as to what was going on there, to which Pastors Ramesh Ashok and Balu explained to them that they had assembled for a prayer meeting and some of them were going to receive the sacrament of baptism. The policemen and the RSS workers then started tackling them alleging that they were involved in forcible conversion of innocent Hindus. One of the policemen caught hold of Mr. Manish Tiwari, the owner of the house, and simply slapped him a couple of times without any provocation.  read more »

Madhya Pradesh tops crime against minors

Madhya Pradesh tops the list of states in the country when it comes to exploitation of minors, particularly girls, a NCRB report said. According to the annual report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for year 2009-10, a total of 4,646 cases of criminal nature against children were reported in the state.
The maximum number of 337 cases were reported from Indore, dubbed as financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, followed by 257 and 127 cases respectively from Jabalpur and Bhopal.According to the report, 1071 minor girls were raped in Madhya Pradesh, which is 20% of the total of such incidents that took place in the country in 2009-10.  read more »

Evangelist arrested in Jhabua on false case

Kamlesh Tahed (34) lives in Mehandikheda in Jhabua and is a believer. On 8th August 2009, Kamlesh organized a meeting in a village called Chattarpur, 500 kilmeteres away from his own village. At the same time his associate Bahadur also held a meeting in Mehandikheda. About 125 people attended the meetings and many people put their faith in Christ. The people belonged to both the communities of the area – Tahed and Bharia. The village heads Sarpanchs were not very happy with this development as they have been involved with the Hindu extremist group – the RSS. SupremeCourt of India rules Kodikunnil Suresh can continue as MP-GCIC welcomes SC Order

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the election of Kodikunnil Suresh MP. The SC cancelled the ruling of Kerala High Court which rejected the election of Suresh who contested the polls from the Mavelikkara `reserved' constituency. The HC had stated that Suresh couldn't be treated as scheduled caste and issued the order after rejecting the petition submitted by his rival candidate RS Anil of CPI and other two voters.  read more »
