Professor's hand chopping accused recievd foriegn extremist funding


KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the case in which the palm of Thodupuzha Newman College professor T J Joseph was chopped off, has collected evidence of forign extremists funding.NIA has issued an alert in all airports in the country to track the four main accused in the case.
The Kerala state police had conducted a detailed probe into the case and filed chargesheets against 27 accused. NIA of India files FIR in lecturer attack case by Islamic militant outfit in Kerala

08 Apr 2011. Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted the first information report (FIR) in the lecturer attack case. The NIA report has named 54 people as accused. The NIA took over the case on March 9 from the Moovatupuzha(KERALA) police which registered the case. Earlier too, 54 persons were named as accused.T J Joseph of Newman college in Thodupuzha was attacked on July 4 when he was returning with his family members near his home in Muvattupuzha.  read more »
