Carols beckon Christmas
‘Divine Incarnation,' a carol fete organised by Thiruvalla Male Voices and Choral Society, was held at Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Auditorium in Thiruvalla on Sunday, heralding the Christmas season.Hundreds of music lovers attended the programme. Jacob Kurien, director of Thiruvalla Choral Society, led the fete that began with prayers at 6.30 p.m. Geevarghese Mar Athanaseus Episcopa delivered the Christmas message. P.O. John, Choral Society president and A.V. George, director of AVG Motors, that co-sponsored the programme, spoke. A mime, ‘Perfect Light', by Friends Chamber, Thiruvalla, and a skit by the Believers Church Theological Seminary were staged. read more »

Mysore- (Karnataka) -10-4-11: About 25 Bajrang Dal Activists mounted an attack on the New India Church of God on Veena Sheshanna Road at Mysore today, 10-4-11, at 11 a.m, while the Sunday morning service was on. Pastor Vinod M. Chacko was conducting the prayer service and about 75 believers were present in the church when the Hindu Fundamentalists barged into the church, forcibly stopped the service and began abusing the believers, using the filthiest language. Then they telephoned to the K.R. Police Station complaining against alleged forcible conversions of Hindus to Christianity. Sub Inspector Srinivas along with half a dozen constables soon arrived at the church in their police jeep and arrested Pastor Vinod M. Chacko (35), his wife Asha (28), Assistant Pastor Sabu (30) and Believers - Simon(33) and Sayazu (32), and took them all to the police station. The police also seized a number of vehicles, a car belonging to the church, 3 cars, 4 jeeps and 7 two-wheelers belonging to the believers. read more »

The Mysore Pastors association has organized a 15 day pastor’s training programme known as Shekina Spiritual training programme for the local pastors, Leaders and evangelist. The programme began on the 25th of August with about 50 people attending the meeting. This programme was organized in Ramabai Nagar, about 10 kms from the city of Mysore. read more »
