The group was participating in a peaceful two day rally. After the naming ceremony of some Christians, the radicals attacked the faithful. Previously they had tortured a Christian, who refused to insult the name of God, for five hours. The man was beaten with chains, sticks and a scythe; his wounds rubbed with water and alcohol; his body subjected to electric shocks.

Patna (AsiaNews) - The faithful of a Pentecostal community of Nabinagar assaulted, the pastor beaten harshly and other religious beaten; a Barh Christian kidnapped and tortured for hours, after he had refused to insult the name of God. These are the last two episodes of violence perpetrated by radical Hindus in the state of Bihar, who have taken on the Christians accusing them of forced conversions. Sajan K George, president of the Global Council of Indian Christians, told AsiaNews " intolerance against Christians is growing in secular India."


Bajrang Dal Attacks Believers and Pastors Inside Church in Bihar

On 10th April 2016, a group of Bajrang Dal members stormed the church service of GEMS church at Nabinagar and began to beat the believers and the missionaries. On 5th April, a graduate of Timothy Bible College was severely beaten and abused in Patna district.
The Area Convention of Magahi 2 Zone was conducted from 8th to 10th April 2016 in the theme ‘Holiness upon Holiness’ at the GEMS church in Nabinagar in which 210 believers participated. It was organized by Area Leader Bro. Jebakumar Dhanraj and the local arrangements were done by the pastor of this church Bro. Suresh Lakhra.


Pastors and Believers Beaten up by Hindu Radicals in Bihar

Jahanabad - Patna, Bihar: 03-02-2015 – Good News Center Church at Jahanabad near Patna in Bihar was having its usual Sunday Service on 11th January and about hundred people were participating in the service. Pastor Kamalesh Kumar, 35, was preaching. Just as the congregation began praying, about 60 Hindu fundamentalists belonging to RSS, Bajarang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad outfits of the saffron brigade forced themselves into the prayer hall shouting Hindu religious slogans like Jai Ram etc. They then caught hold of Pastor Kamlesh Kumar and started beating him. They also took the mike and bashed him with it. The pastor was badly wounded in his left leg and the left ear affecting his hearing.
