15 convicted in Kandhamal riot case

Phulbani (Orissa), Sept 30 -A local court here today sentenced 15 people to three-years rigorous imprisonment after finding them guilty in setting fire on houses of minorities during communal riot in Kandhamal district in 2008. The punishment was pronounced by Fast Track Court-II Judge C R Das while disposing a house burning incident which took place at Saudikia village under Baliguda police station area on September 26, 2008. Eight Pastors detained in Theni-Tamil Nadu

Evang.V K Williams (Evangelist, Theni) and seven other Evangelists were arrested today morning and is detained in police lockup in BodiNayakanur at the press time.
. They had started One Day Gospel Outreach at Bodi (Theni, TN) and instantaneously anti-gospel elements started disruption . The local anti-gospel elements and their leadership is putting pressure on the police to book charges on the basis of false allegations made against the evangelists by them .
