Japan was struck by a magnitude 8.9 earthquake off its northeastern coast on Friday, unleashing a 13-foot tsunami that washed away cars and tore away buildings along the coast near the epicenter. There were reports of injuries in Tokyo. The Super moon, on 19th March , is believed to come closer to earth, more than it has in 18 years. Its closeness to earth may cause disasters. There is no significant tsunami threat to India in the wake of the massive earthquake in Japan, according to the National Tsunami Early Warning Centre here.
