The incident was triggered after Mr. Singh allegedly slapped Bajrang Dal leader Govind Prabhu. According to Mr. Singh, the activists had been charged with sexually abusing a Christian woman and attacking a mosque during the January 22 bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
