The recent developments have shown that militant Hindu nationalist groups are intent on launching domestic terrorist attacks, a US Congressional report has said.
"Even more recent are overt signs that India is home to militant Hindu nationalist groups intent on launching domestic terrorist attacks. In September 2008, seven people were killed by two bomb blasts in Maharashtra's Malegaon, a hotbed of Hindu-Muslim communal strife," said Congressional Research Service (CRS) in its latest report on India.
The 94-page report was released by the CRS, independent and bipartisan wing of the US Congress prepares periodic reports on issues of interest to the US lawmakers, on September 1, a copy of which made public by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) yesterday. read more »

The files, obtained by the WikiLeaks website and passed to The Daily Telegraph, disclose that a phone number of someone at the BBC was found in the phone books and phones of a number of extremists seized by US forces.

08 Apr 2011. Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted the first information report (FIR) in the lecturer attack case. The NIA report has named 54 people as accused. The NIA took over the case on March 9 from the Moovatupuzha(KERALA) police which registered the case. Earlier too, 54 persons were named as accused.T J Joseph of Newman college in Thodupuzha was attacked on July 4 when he was returning with his family members near his home in Muvattupuzha. read more »
Church and social activists in Orissa are demanding the National Investigating Agency (NIA) probe anti-Christian violence in Kandhamal after a Hindu extremist “admitted” his involvement in it.
A Military Intelligence report recently revealed a senior army official, Lt.Col .Prasad Srikant Purohit and his Abhinav Bharat (New India) group targeted Christians in several places including Kandhamal and Karnataka.
The report said Purohit confessed to killing two people in Orissa.The officer reportedly made the confession when questioned by army officials over his involvement in a separate terror attack. read more »
