About 25 Bajrang Dal activists barged into the residence of a believer, Brother Manjunath, at Emarakuntte Village in Srinivasapura Taluk of Kolar District, on Sunday morning 3rd October, 2010, when Pastor Daniel Shankar was conducting the prayer service, and beat up the believers and forcibly took possession of all the 20 odd Bible copies, and threatened them with dire consequences if they persisted with their prayer services in the future. They also clicked some photographs and dragged the believers to the street and telephonically contacted the RSS Head Quarters at Kolar to reinforce themselves with larger numbers. In the confusion that prevailed, Pastor Daniel Shankar, who was the main target, somehow managed to escape from the scene leaving behind his two-wheeler, a motor cycle. The activists also then called the police at Somiyachanahally police station, who arrived at about 11.30 am and took possession of the motor cycle and the Bibles. read more »
