Bubaneshwar (Orissa): The unfortunate victim is a domestic help, one Smt. Janani Pradhan, 35, wife of Shri. Debananda Pradhan, living in a slum in Bubaneshwar. Originally they hail from Kandhamal, but as victims of the 2008 communal riots of Kandhamal, forced to migrate to Bubaneshwar and take up work as a menial servant to eke out a living. The incident took place on 2-8-2011 in the house of one Shri. Prakash Mohapatra an employee of the State Bank of India in Bubaneshwar for whom she was working as a domestic help on a monthly salary of Rs. 800=00, during the last 3 years. She was supposed to have died accidentally falling from their rooftop. Her husband received the telephonic message from Prakash Mohapatra at 11.30 a.m. on 2-8-11, that his wife has accidentally fallen from the roof-top and died and that he must come immediately to their house and take her body away.  read more »
