Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
May the grace, love and peace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ be upon you!

The Global Investors Meet took place 3rd and 4th of June 2010 in Bangalore. The Time News Bureau reported that the Global Investors Meet (GIM) expected to bring in Rs. 5 trillion to Karnataka in the next four-five years. Many leading investors & industrialists attended the two-day event. Arun Jaitley, a leader in the BJP (an opposition party), told the GIM that Karnataka was the safest place to invest and will benefit the underprivileged in the social sector.

This is a false statement though because not 2 days after the Global Investors Meet and only 140 kilometers away two women were persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. That doesn't seem like a “safe place” to me. On Sunday 6th of June 2010 at 10:30 a.m. a group of RSS members, accompanied by local police, disrupted the worship service at Jesus Prayer Team in Bovi Colony, Chickmanglur District, Karnataka. The two pastors, Lalithamma (62 years old) and Kadaur Devaki (28 years old) were verbal abused then taken to the police station and interrogated for 4 hours on false charges by Kadur police. They were accused of creating communal disharmony and disrupting the peace. Lalithamma and Kadaur Devaki are currently in Hassan jail awaiting their trail. The police officers under pressure from the MLA were believed to have fostered false charges against the two women.
In my opinion the GIM closed their eyes and covered their eyes to the fact that persecution is happening right in Karnataka and in surrounding states. Local investors & industrialists are consumed by the possibility of more money that will flow into Bangalore. This has caused these political and business leaders to tell lies to the GIM in order for their own prosperity; these lies are driven by greed. They have chosen to ignore the blatant violation of human rights and religious freedom.
