Hinduvta extremists on 8th December, attacked Rev. N Satyam(60) in Ibrahim Pura , Srirampura colony, Bellary, Karnataka.

Around 5pm as Rev Satyam of 'Immanuel A G Church' accompanied by a believer identified only as David were returning home from a prayer meeting organized by a Hindu Convert Krishna Veni, a mob of nearly 25 radicals led by M/s.Sidesh, Mallesh, Mahendra Bhatt surrounded the auto rickshaw, they had hired.

The radicals blocked the road with large boulders, stopped the vehicle, dragged the Christians outside, verbally abused both and beaten them up.

The fundamentalists falsely accused the pastor of forceful conversion and began to beat him along with the other elders. The radical Hindus are local leaders of VHP and about 20-25 activists led by M/s.Sidesh, Mallesh, Mahendra Bhatt indulged in the atrocities.

A Church member of the church informed the Bellary Rural Police station and a team led by PSI Devendrappa reached the spot and took the Christians to the police station.

The pastor and elders were detained in the police station till 11.30 in the evening and were let off after strong warning.
The Pastor has also filed a complaint with the police station. However the police refused to take any action against the attackers. Rev. N Satyam is from Immanuel A G Church, Srirampura colony, Bellary

The Christian leaders and believers in Bellary has called for a protest in Bellary on the 15th of December to demand for protection and religious freedom
