A group of Hindutva extremists called the RSS disrupted a prayer service organized by Bershebha church on February 15th in Pandhi village, Seepat road, Near Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. A three day worship service was organized by the church from the 14th to the 16th February 2012 and about 100 people were participating in the prayer service with prior police permission. The first day of the meeting around 15 to 20 RSS people came and threatened them and told Pastor Daulat Ram [30 years old] and Sunam Kumar Besra [40 years old] not to continue with the meetings and while leaving they slapped Sunam Besra.
On the second day a group of about 50 RSS miscreants along with the once that came earlier from the area came and told pastor Daultram to stop the meeting at about 12.30 in the afternoon, then they started to destroy the tent, mike and speakers. The mob then dragged the Christians present at the prayer service and started brutally assaulting them. The ensuing rampage resulted in severe injuries to the Christian and Pastor Sunam Besra suffered head injuries resulting in receiving stitches.If the Sisters believers would have not come and taken him away Sunam would suffer terribly.Later the group left the place two by two slowly the belivers and Pastors left the place by evening and one of the area leaders Pastor Immannuel Banchor was left with another believer as they took the Bike and left the place and went a little distance some of the RSS people from the group caught them and beat beat them so badly with their fists and leather belt that Immanuel had injury on his left eye and could not see properly and the beliver had been hit on his ear so bad that he could not hear properly they damaged Immanuels bike too with great difficulty they could grag themselves to the meeting place as they were afraid to go further and took rest at one of their believers house near the meeting place.At around 3:00 A.M some Pastors and Believers came escorting them broght them 15 kilometers from the meeting place to their house in Bilaspur by 4:00 A.M . The Inspector in-charge, Mr. Rajan Singh , arrived on the spot and took charge . A case has been registered against the radicals under section 147, 296 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code. No arrest has been made yet.
