Thane, Apr 22: The Palghar police arrested six people for alleged forceful conversion of Hindu tribals to the Christian faith.The police arrested six people last night following a complaint lodged by Santosh Laxman Tokre of Deokop village in Palghar taluka, who said a group of people were enticing tribals to get converted from Hinduism to Christianity.Global council of Indian Christians(GCIC) slams Mahrashtra police for motivated action against Christians in Thane

Vincent Benedict, Alfansoi Davre, Cyger D’Souza, Santia D’Souza, Solomon Shinde (all from Vasai) and Hari Rama of Palghar, were booked under sections 295A and 34 of the IPC and charged with converting the tribals.
