Anti-cow slaughter bill to incorporate Prez proposal
The Karnataka chief minister said that he would announce the formation of an Anti-cow slaughter Commission in the budget. The modalities of the Commission are being worked out.
Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said on Monday that the government would bring about an amendment to the anti-cow slaughter bill, by incorporating the small changes suggested by the President, in the next session of the State legislature.The President has returned the bill suggesting the changes and it would be sent back to the President after the modifications are made, the chief minister said.He laid the foundation stone for the world’s tallest Shivalinga at the Siddaganga Mutt ( Hindu Monastry).
The President’s office has communicated that the legislation will get the nod if the small changes are incorporated, Gowda said. It has been suggested that the ban on the slaughter of buffaloes should be dropped from the bill. Buffaloes will be kept out of the purview of the bill.
