GCIC Strongly Condemns Attack on Vendors Selling Karavali Ale news paper

This is an Assault on Freedom of Press by those with Vested Interests. GCIC demands arrest of culprits

A group of miscreants attacked paper vendors and vandalised their stalls in Mangalore, on Sunday September 26 evening for selling Karavali Ale newspaper.
The group, comprising three men on a bike, first attacked a vendor in Falnir area and damaged a stall as well as an STD booth belonging to him.
It was followed by another similar attack on a stall in Kankanady.
Apart from the attacks, the vandals reportedly issued warnings and threats to several other paper vendors against selling Karavali Ale.
Earlier the news paper wasattacked for its strong stand for the cause of secular society.The Editor chief Mr. BV Seetharam alleged that earlier attacks on Karavali Ale that it was being penalised for its criticism of the police and Bajarang Dal for their objectionable role during the attacks on churches and for being committed to transparent, secular and pluralistic ideals in its approach to public issues.
