Pastor Titus from Bethel Ministry Church at Kushalnagar, Kodagu district is pastoring the church for the past 10 years. He shares the word of God to the people in and around Kushalnagar. About 150 members get together and are worshiping the almighty God in this church every Sunday. A church believers named Mr. Mani & Mrs. Janakiyamma aged about 70 and 68 years are a good evangelist and are farmers of that village. They have four daughters who are all married and have children. Three - four days in a week Eva..Mani & Mrs. Janakiyamma go the believers houses for prayers and encouragement.
On 26th November 2011 as usual they went to pray and share the gospel in the outskirts of the village to a new believers house. After sharing the word of God with them, while having the closing prayer around 1.30pm in the afternoon, members of radical Sangha parivar and Bajarang Dal came and accosted them, and then called up Kushalnagar police station. Sub-inspector Chickaswamy along with other police men came and took Mrs. Janakiyamma to station leaving her husband there. They grilled her for three hours and filed a case under IPC section 34 and FIR 295 A . She was sent to Somavarapyatte Magistrate at 5.00pm and from there she was sent to Madikeri jail.
In the evening police along with radical groups met the pastor asking for documents and other details of the church. GCIC is pursuing the case with the DySP Mr. Paul Varma and Lawyer Mr. Suresh Babulie. Please pray for release of Sister Janakyamma
