Kandhamal
The Baptist christian community had been worshipping at their village church for more than 60 years. They have their graveyard (place of burial) on plot adjacent to their church. During the communal violence of 2008, their church was badly destroyed, only verry little portion of the old church remains now.
Rebuilding of the church began over an year ago. Hindu fundamentalists brought earth movr and dug up the land between the church and the graveyard and created a dispute. The administration declared that it was disputed land. Revnue and police authorities repeatedly told the christian community not to proceed with reconstruction work whenever they began work.

On 23/8/11, Revenue inspector came to the site to issue order for stop work to the christian community.This is the third church (reconstruction of which) ordered to be stopped by revenue officials. The reconstruction catholic church at Bakingia is stopped by hindu fundamentalist, aganist whom adminstration has not taken any action.
The administration appear to be siding with hindu fundamentalist.
