Mudhol, Bagalkot (Karnataka): Pastor Sangappa Hosamani Shadrak (28), has been preaching the word of God during the last 8 years in Mudhol, Bagalkot District of Karnataka.  He lives with his wife, Shilpa,22) and an 8 months old boy child in Mudhol.   About 10 Kms  away from his residence, at the residence of a believer, Yellappa Hosamani , in a village called Rohi, he has been regularly  conducting the prayer services on Sunday mornings between 11 am and 1 pm during the last several years. As usual, they had also assembled today, Sunday, 21-8-2011, for the Sunday Worship Service.
But just while the worship service was on round about 11.30 a.m. we understand that about 20 Bajrang Dal activists attacked the congregation and desecrated the bread and wine which was being used for the worship, and also beat up Pastor Shadrak, whose face was badly wounded and who also lost one of his front teeth. We understand that the activists then dragged the pastor out of the house and took him to the Village “Katte” and tied him to the tree, after which they sent for the police from the Lokapura police station.  

Inspector Choudhary  and a posse of policemen soon after, arrived at the spot  in a jeep and took Pastor Shadrak and some believers to the police station for further legal procedure. The GCIC got in touch with the Lokapura police and and senior police officials. In-spite of our day long attempts to release , pastor shadrak was produced before the magistrate at 9pm and send to Jamkotai sub jail under section IPC section 143, 147,323,324,341 507,295.
