Salman Rashdies India visit-islamic seminary demands visa cancellation

New Delhi: Salman Rushdie's proposed visit to Jaipur for the Literary Festival has come under cloud as Islamic Seminary the Darul Uloom Deoband wants the government to cancel Rushdie's visa for hurting the sentiments of Muslims in the past."Indian government should cancel his visa as Rushdie had annoyed the religious sentiments of Muslims in the past," Maulana Abul Qasim Nomani, the Vice Chancellor of Darul Uloom, said in a release.
The government should take into account the feelings of Muslims against Rushdie, he stressed.  read more »

Shijo Kokkattu, a 30-year-old teacher, was betrayed by his colleagues because he accidentally left a picture of Our Lady and some Marian songs on a school computer. Islam is state religion in the Maldives, where there is no freedom of worship. American Muslim Lobby Force Firing of Popular Radio Host?

Washington, D.C. radio station WMAL is once again being accused of firing a popular talk show host because of his criticism of radical Muslims. The station, a major source of news and information for the nation’s capital, claims that popular morning host Fred Grandy resigned on his own, but Grandy tells AIM that he was essentially forced to leave after his wife, who is also outspoken about radical Islam, was cut from the program.  read more »

Christian school bunt in Srinagar by terrorists-GCIC condemns the heinous attack against Christians

Islamic Militants on 19 February burned St Paul International School,a Christian school, resulting in property damages of about Rs. 60 Lacs in Ananthnag Srinagar, Kashmir.

At about 10:30 p.m, some Militants set on fire St. Luke Convent School having classes from Std I-X. Eight rooms including the class rooms, library and computer rooms were completely burned down.  read more »

Over 70 Christians Arrested in Iran during Christmas

In the early morning hours after Christmas day, the Iranian government arrested 25 Christians in Tehran and other locations. They also planned to detain sixteen others, but were unable to locate them. There are also unconfirmed reports that the authorities have arrested over 50 other Christians. According to BBC Persian, the Governor of Tehran has vowed to arrest more evangelical Christians.  read more »
