DAMMAM- Well-known singer KG Markose, who was arrested in Dammam, released from Khatif jail an hour ago.
He was detained, along with seven other organisers, as they were not taken permission from officials concerned to conduct the music program. Here in the Gulf, it is a must to take prior approval from authority for any gatherings.Markose arrived here on Friday to attend a concert as part of India Republic Day celebrations. read more »
I spoke to the Lawyer, who further told that they have been successful for confirming a stay order on the FIR (First Information Report) booked by the Police, sharia court as well as the Government. Now according to this, the government officials as well as none of the police officer is allowed to do further investigation. I remember a beautiful verse, I thought I must share with you, from the book of Psalms 57:3, which says like this, "He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; Selah God sends his love and his faithfulness."

This family has been serving the Lord in Kodli village, Siddapura Taluk, Dt. Uttara Kannada for the past 3 years. Has visited about 15 villages. 20 believers come to his house church in Kodli. On 2nd Feb. 2012, 3 police men in civil dress along with a radical leader came around 4 p.m. and without any prior information and searched Pasor Kiran Thippanna Das's house. They took some tracts and Bibles and questioned about his work. They took away his two wheeler, some of his books and Bibles and ask him to come to meet the Inspector when they phone him. After 3 days a phone call from the Police station was received. He was asked to meet PSI Almurthy. He went to the station. The PSI said that he had received complaints from villagers that he was converting people to Christianity and was asked to pack his things and leave the village within 24 hours or to jail. read more »

Election officials have asked the income-tax authorities in Goa to apologise to the Goa parish priest for conducting a raid on him on the basis of false information.
District Election Officer Sandip Jacques wrote in a letter to the tax authorities that it was “appropriate” the officials tender an apology to Fr. Roman Gonsalves, parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church at Velim for the raid on Feb 6. read more »
